Renovations
The part of a bathroom reno nobody photographs
Tile and vanities are what you see. Venting, slope and valve access are what decides whether it holds up. If you are renovating, get the plumbing scoped before the demo, not after.
- Proper venting for every fixture — the single most common code failure we find in DIY and handyman work.
- Correct drain slope at 1/4 inch per foot. Too flat and it clogs; too steep and the solids get left behind.
- Access panels planned before tile goes up, so the next repair is not a demolition job.
- Shut-off valves at every fixture so one leak never means shutting down the whole house.
- Permits and inspections pulled and attended by us on work that requires them.
- Coordination with your trades — we schedule rough-in and final around the tiler and the electrician, not the other way around.

FAQ
Common questions
Should I buy my own fixtures?
You can, and plenty of clients do. Buy from a plumbing supplier rather than a big-box store where possible — the same model number often has a plastic internal body in the retail version. We will tell you before install if what you bought will cause trouble.
Do I need a permit for a bathroom renovation?
If you are moving or adding drains or vents, yes. Swapping fixtures in the same location generally does not require one. We confirm with your municipality and pull it if needed.
Can you work around my tiler and electrician?
Yes. On renovations we normally do the rough-in, wait for inspection and drywall, then return for the final install. We hold the dates so your schedule does not slip.
My shower has no pressure. Is that a plumbing problem?
Usually yes — a clogged cartridge, a partially closed valve, or galvanised supply lines corroding shut. We test the pressure at several points before recommending anything.
